Ryan received his Master’s in Teaching from City University. He has endorsements in Middle School Math, Science, Health, and Fitness. Ryan spent his first four years of teaching at Hamilton International Middle School in the Seattle School District teaching 6th grade Math, 6th grade Math Improvement, 6th grade Honors Math, and 7th grade Math. The last seven years, Ryan has taught at Evergreen Middle School. There, he has taught 7th grade Math, 8th grade Math, Algebra, 8th grade AVID, 6th grade Fitness, and 7th grade Fitness. Uniquely, Ryan comes from a family of educators: His father was a middle school counselor in the Seattle School District for 25+ years, his mother was a substitute for LWSD, his brother-in-law is currently the Associate Principal at Rose Hill Middle School, and his sister is an Associate Principal at Garfield High School in Seattle.

Ryan shared, “The opportunity to be a part of a new middle school is very exciting to me. I am looking forward to continuing to teach what I really enjoy, remain working in the community that I live in, collaborate with some familiar faces from EMS, and learn from new colleagues. I hope to help build a strong, inclusive learning environment at TMS that helps all students be successful during their middle school years.”
