Hello Timberline Community! My name is Daniel Wojcek, I am lucky enough to be the Activity Coordinator and teach Leadership to all grades here at TMS. I grew up in Bremerton Washington, attended Western Washington University for 6 years and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies and a Master’s Degree in Teaching. I started my teaching journey in 2018 in Port Orchard and am thankful that in 2019 I was a part of Timberline’s inaugural year. Outside of school, I love sports and coach many here at TMS (basketball, soccer primarily), and even still play ice hockey once a week! I love to hike, read, play video games, and cheer on my favorite sports teams!
My personal philosophy of teaching aligns tremendously with Timberline’s: Every Student Matters. With an emphasis on Social Emotional Learning and Service Learning, the Timberline community ensures that our students depart with content knowledge, but also with the skills to be a kind, empathetic, and caring human. Prioritizing mental health, compassion and empathy, as well as volunteering/supporting our community, our student leave with the skills to be leaders in high school and beyond. Another pillar of my own pedagogy is the Servant-Leadership Triangle: combining the will to be a change agent, love and compassion for others, and serving/sacrificing for your community to gain trust from the people around you. Empowering our students of Timberline is what motivates me to come to school every day, providing tools and resources to our students to be agents of change locally & globally.
