Math

I completed my Masters in Computer Science in India and worked as an IT Operations Analyst for a few years. After moving to the United States, I volunteered in my child’s classroom every week and enjoyed working with children which ignited my desire to work to become a teacher. From my childhood, I’ve always enjoyed doing math and loved problem solving. Initially, I started coaching Washington Math Olympiad and Math Counts and continued my journey in schools as an Instructional Assistant. It came to a point where I realized that I could accomplish much more as a classroom teacher. I went on to complete my teaching program from the University of West Florida and started as an eighth-grade math teacher at Inglewood Middle School. This is my second year as a classroom teacher and my eighth year in education. I have served in other roles in schools working with elementary students, middle schoolers and high schoolers.

I believe that every student is unique and capable of being good at math. I want my students to know that they are valued members of the classroom community. Students who are motivated are engaged, stay on task and cause less disruption in the classroom. I, therefore, focus on delivering instruction that is engaging and encourages active participation.
