Jackie Coons has a Master’s degree and National Board certification in School Counseling with 16 years of instructional experience. This includes nine years as a science teacher and most recently, seven years as a school counselor at Inglewood Middle School. Jackie has developed and facilitated small counseling groups for students needing coping skills for anxiety, helped to restructure intervention time by implementing “flex period”, and stress management guidance lessons for every student at each grade level.
Jackie shared, “I’m excited to join the counseling team with others who share a common interest in shaping life-long learners. As a school counselor, I’m passionate about meeting the social and emotional learning needs of students, so I am thrilled to work with others with a similar interest in mind as we sculpt an educational program together, focusing on the whole child. Recently I’ve embraced the growth mindset movement and am enthusiastic to hear how other team members wish to instill persistence, grit, and resiliency in our students.”
