Nobody knows the building as well as Mark; he is one of the first people you meet either in the parking lots deicing, receiving supplies on the loading dock or raising the flags in the front of the building, or throughout the school, wherever needed, he is everywhere, and always the first one called for any maintenance or building-use related issue.
Mark has worked in a few fields before coming to LWSD. Past work has included working for the City of Tukwila Road Maintenance, and as a welder’s helper and diesel mechanic, and time as a Janitorial Supervisor in Seattle-Bellevue area. Mark has been working with LWSD since 2000. He shared, “I could not see myself working for anyone else. They have helped me grow as an individual and I have learned a lot along the way. During this time, I have met some great administrators, teachers, and students. When I first started with LWSD, I went back to school to get my AA in Criminal Law, but decided to stay with LWSD because I wanted to try and be a good role model for students and help where I can.” He had previously worked at Inglewood and Evergreen Middle School, McAuliffe and Dickenson Elementary. .
Regarding Timberline, Mark shared, “I joined the Timberline Staff to help support staff and students in any way I can so that all can learn in a safe and clean environment. Inadvertently, I believe in order to excel your own mind, you need to learn more to grow. This is what it means to work in this awesome place!!”
